CE02. Conocimiento de las construcciones a partir del estudio cualitativo de sus mecanismos resistentes, de las características de los materiales de construcción y de los tipos estructurales actuales e históricos, así como de sus procesos constructivos.CE02.
Al termino de esta enseñanza el alumnado debe ser capaz de:
DRA1 Comprender las características de los diferentes materiales empleados en las técnicas constructivas habituales y las implicaciones de su uso desde el punto de vista resistente.
DRA2 Fundamentar el comportamiento resistente básico de los elementos lineales y superficiales.
DRA3 Conocer la evolución tipológica de las estructuras desde un punto de vista histórico.
DRA4 Identificar los diferentes mecanismos resistentes presentes en las tipologías estructurales más frecuentes en la construcción.
DRA5 Elaborar análisis, al menos de modo cualitativo, de estructuras complejas a partir de la identificación e interrelación de mecanismos resistentes sencillos.
DRA6 Relacionar el diseño, la creación, el diseño y el emprendimiento de proyectos novedosos e innovadores en el ámbito de conocimiento de la asignatura.
DRA7 Evaluar ideas y soluciones innovadoras para desarrollar nuevos productos, procesos o servicios en contextos multidisciplinares.

You will also find recommendations on how to proceed in an emergency or if an incident occurs. Particularly when carrying out training practices in laboratories, workshops or field work, you must follow all your teacher's instructions, because he/she is the person responsible for your safety and health during practice performance. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and do not put your safety or that of your classmates at risk.
Relación con otras asignaturas del plan de estudios: La asignatura forma parte del itinerario optativo de "Construcción" y se relaciona con las asignaturas de 1er curso: Teoría de estructuras; Construcción en hormigón; Geotecnia y cimientos. Está relacionada con las asignaturas de 2º curso: Construcción metálica; Análisis avanzado de estructuras; Aplicaciones del método de elementos finitos en ingeniería estructural (asignatura de bloque optativo); Puentes (asignatura de bloque optativo); Procedimientos especiales de cimentación (Asignatura de bloque optativo). Conocimientos previos recomendados: Es recomendable disponer de conocimientos de resistencia de materiales, cálculo de estructuras, estructuras de hormigón y metálicas. Cada estudiante tiene que elegir y cursar un itinerario optativo de 16.5 ECTS, agrupados en 3 bloques de 4 asignaturas por temáticas: Bloque de Construcción (16.5 ECTS). Puentes (4.5 ECTS), Tipología estructural y constructiva (4.5 ECTS), Procedimientos especiales de cimentación (4.5 ECTS), Aplicaciones del método de elementos finitos en ingeniería estructural (3 ECTS). Bloque de Transportes, Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio (16.5 ECTS). Infraestructuras y servicios urbanos (4.5 ECTS), Intersección y enlaces en redes viarias (4.5 ECTS), Planificación y gestión territorial (3 ECTS), Ingeniería paisajística, territorial y de la planificación ambiental (4.5 ECTS). Bloque de Hidráulica, Medio Ambiente y Energía (16.5 ECTS). Energía hidroeléctrica, eólica y mareomotriz (4.5 ECTS), Modelos numéricos de zonas inundables (3 ECTS), Modelización y simulación de estructuras hidráulicas (4.5 ECTS), Ingeniería fluvial (4.5 ECTS).
Class in conventional classroom: theory, problems, case studies, seminars, etc.
Lectures about the syllabus of the course. The number of students in class, being an elective course, is reduced, which allows an almost personalized monitoring of learning. The way in which teaching is planned, in a very interactive way with the student, through class attendance and tutorials, allows to detect possible training gaps, to evaluate the performance of students and to consolidate the most important concepts of the subject.

Individual assignments and/or presentations.
The course is evaluated mainly through the preparation and presentation of an individual (or small group) coursework related to the course syllabus. The topic, usually a structure, is proposed by the student (or the group) and accepted by the Professor. The depth and scope of the work depends on the number of students in the group. The most common coursework studies the historical context, the structural typology and the structural behavior of the chosen structure studied according to the concepts explained during the course.
The course work is divided into two parts. Both parts are publicly exposed before the Professor and the rest of the students of the course on the dates corresponding to the mid-term exams. They are graded individually.
The first part represents 35% of the overall grade. The second part represents 55% of the overall grade.
A minimum grade of 4 points in each part must be achieved to pass the whole course.
The coursework is written during the course and is followed by the teacher through tutorials.
The grade for the course work is normally the same for all the students of a group, although it may be different if it is demonstrated, in the teacher's opinion, that the contribution of the group members is significantly different.
This activity assesses all the Learning Outcomes.

Other evaluation activities
This activity is evaluated through scheduled tutorial meetings to monitor students' progress in writing course work.
The grade for each tutorial meeting will be 10% of the grade divided by the number of meetings. Tentatively, there will be two group meetings. To obtain this grade it is necessary to present and expose real individual/group progress in the work.
The meetings will take place during non-teaching hours.
The grade will normally be the same for all students in the same group, although it may be different if it is demonstrated, in the Professor's judgment, that the contribution of the members of the group is significantly different.
All Learning Outcomes are assessed in this activity.
